Roger Rake

Roger A. Rake, 78, of Apalachin, NY passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2017. He was predeceased by his parents, Morgan and Mary Rake and a brother, Raymond Rake. He is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Barbara A. Rake, Apalachin; two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Marie Rake, Katy TX, Robert and Cindy Rake, Lisle, NY; one daughter, Heather Rake and her fiancee Ray Rivenbark, Wilmington, NC; three grandchildren, Sean, Amber and Ryan; one great-grandchild, Landon; several nieces, nephews and cousins.Roger was a retired I.B.M. Corporation employee retiring after 26 years of service and a member of its Quarter Century Club. He was an avid Notre Dame, Syracuse, NY Giants and NY Yankees fan. He was a running back for Johnson City High School and was a graduate of Kings College, Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday 1 p.m. from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. Deacon Dale Crotsley will officiate. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Wednesday 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy in Roger’s memory may be made to American Cancer Society for Prostate Cancer or the charity of one’s choice.
