Roger Michael Rizzi, 78 of Vestal, passed away at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse, Tuesday, August 18, 2015. He was predeceased by his parents Vito and Palmera Rizzi; three sisters Madeline Rizzi; Mary Marino and Ida DeDio and a brother Vito Rizzi. He is survived by his beloved wife Brenda J. Rizzi, Vestal; two daughters Maureen Borek, Florida and Sandra Rizzi and Guy House, Castle Creek; four loving grandchildren and six great grandchildren; a step daughter Wendy Hicks; step sons Robert Stanley and Scott (Kandi) Stanley; three step grandchildren and one step great grandchild, all of Virginia; a sister Antoinette Allio, Binghamton; three brothers and sisters in law Sam and Penny Rizzi, Florida; Lou Rizzi, Binghamton and Arthur and Cathy Rizzi, Endwell; his beloved Paco and Panda; also several nieces; nephews and cousins. He was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, Endicott and a retired IBM Corp. employee, retiring after 27 years of service. Roger was a member of the Bill Flynn Polka Fan Club. He enjoyed his yearly trips to Mexico. He was an avid builder, gardener and die hard New York Giants Fan. Roger also enjoyed his daily trips to McDonald’s for coffee with his wife, friends and buddy Frankie.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Monday 10 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 306 Odell Avenue, Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, Sunday from 4-7 pm. Expressions of sympathy in Roger’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
