Roland “Butch” Neira, 80, of Endicott, NY passed away peacefully in his home on September 25, 2024. Butch was born on April 2nd, 1944 in Johnson City, NY and was the son of the late Ovidio and Emily (Rotunno) Neira. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Mary Ann (Flora) Neira and his brothers and sister-in-law Benny DiLorenzo Sr., John Flora, and Jennie Neira. He is survived by his loving children Anthony (Susan) Neira, Gina (Scott) Paugh, and Bobby Neira; his 10 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter whom he adored. Michael (Kayla), Zachary, Lucas, Alexa, Matthew, Nathan, Dylan, Sophia, Nicholas, Thomas, and great granddaughter, Brynlee; brother, Ovidio Robert Neira and Sister, Barbara DiLorenzo; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Butch Neira, beloved musician and family man, passed away leaving a legacy of rhythm, passion, and friendship. For decades, Butch entertained countless people as the lead singer and drummer of the band Masterpiece, sharing his musical talents for over 60 years. A man of many passions, he was an avid golfer who cherished every moment on the course, loved cheering on his Yankees and Giants, and a proud owner of a classic ’56 Ford T-Bird, which he lovingly showcased with a closeknit group of friends. Butch dedicated over 10 years of service driving school busses for the Union Endicott and Vestal Central schools, fostering a sense of care and community. He also proudly served his country in the United States Army. His love for his family, music, and the simple joys of life will fondly be remembered by all who knew him.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday September 30th at St. Ambrose Church, 203 Washington Avenue, Endicott, NY. Family and friends can pay their respects at church from 10:30-11:30 am, with a Mass to follow at 11:30 am.
