Ronald passed away peacefully on July 9, 2014 at Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, NY. He was the son of the late Stanley and Helen Oswald of Clifton Springs, NY. He was also predeceased by his first wife Barbara Oswald. He is survived by his wife of 31 years Catherine Ulrich of Garrison, NY; his two daughters, Patricia (Mark) Beaudoin of Windsor, NY and Elizabeth Oswald of Riverdale, NJ; his three step-daughters, Mindy (Jack) Laidlaw, Nancy Ferrara, and Rita Wilds; his grandchildren, Matthew, Michael, Jackie, Michael, Endira, and Lucy; and a great-grandchild, Judah. Ron is also survived by his brothers, Robert (Marcia) Oswald, Daniel (Isabelle) Oswald, and Jim (Allison) Oswald; his sister, Suzanne (Joseph) Marino; a brother-in-law, Ed Filippella; and numerous nieces and nephews. Ron was born in Rochester, NY and graduated from Clifton Springs Central Schools. He retired from ATT Long Lines in White Plains, NY. He resided in Yorktown Heights where he raised his family, and then Garrison where he lived while in retirement. Ron enjoyed trips to the casino, winters in Florida, summer vacations in Montauk, researching family genealogy, Father’s Day golf outings, watching the Yankees, and getting together with family.
There will be a memorial service at St. Columbanus Church, Cortlandt Manor, NY, on Saturday, July 26 at 10 am. A private funeral for family will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Ronald’s memory to the to the American Lung Association, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
