Rosalind J. Hiney

August 18, 1919 — June 16, 2013

Rosalind (Wurth) Hiney, 93, passed away at Ideal Senior Nursing Center, Sunday, June 16, 2013. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred C. Hiney. She is survived by her six children, Robert Hiney (Dawn), Linda Sechrist (Delbert), Shirley Rose (Ralph), Janice Weidow (Brian Gent), Diane Fletcher, Richard Hiney (Edna); a brother, Kent Wurth (Alice); sister-in-law, Joyce Wurth; thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and many nieces and nephews. Rosie, as everyone called her, was a very sociable person. She loved being around people and could always make them smile or even laugh because of her quick wit and good sense of humor. When she and her husband lived in Florida she enjoyed walking on the beach, collecting sea shells, swimming in their pool and riding her bike around town. We want to thank the staff at Ideal Senior Living Center for all the care they gave our Mom. But especially to the staff on Rose Court who gave our Mom all the love and special care during the last days of her life. We can’t thank you enough. In lieu of flowers, please remember Rosalind with a donation to Muscular Dystrophy Association, which was close to her heart. She lost two grandsons to that disease and has a granddaughter still fighting it. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, Friday, from 4-7 pm. Services at the convenience of the family.
