Ross Saddlemire

Ross H. Saddlemire Jr. 85 of Binghamton, passed away on August 22, 2023 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s
Ross was born January 13, 1938, to Ross and Grace Saddlemire, Sr in Binghamton, NY. After high school he chose to serve his county in the Marines. After his discharge he returned to Binghamton to drive truck for both Grand Union and Star Recycling. He spent the end of his career at Sam the Beer Man where he was known and loved by many.
In 1977, Ross met Lucy Brown, the love of his life. They shared many wonderful memories together. Lucy was by Ross’ side every day and the love they shared was even stronger after their fight with this disease.
Ross and Lucy spent most of their time bowling together and apart in many leagues across the triple cities. If he was not bowling, you could find him fishing or just enjoying his time with his love Lucy.
Ross was predeceased by his parents, his sister Nancy Saddlemire, brothers Richard and Jack Saddlemire, daughter Debbie Salisbury and son Patrick Saddlemire. He is survived by his daughter Sheri Saddlemire (Susan Wilson), sons Michael Saddlemire (Donna) and Tom Saddlemire. He also had several grandchildren and great grandchildren who he loved very much.
Services will be held at Vestal Hill Cemetery on October 13, 2023, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Elizabeth Church Manor in Binghamton. His family would like to thank the entire staff of Elizabeth Church Manor for the care of Ross and support surrounding Lucy and his family.
