Ruth E. Ferrari, 82 of Vestal, NY passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, and into the welcoming arms of her Lord and Savior, Wednesday November 9, 2022. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Richard and Julia White; her husband, George Ferrari; her brother, Richard A. White; sister-in-law, Janet White; her daughter-in-law, Katie Bliss; her former husband, Bruce H. Barney, Sr. She is survived by her children, Bruce H. Barney, Jr (Rebecca), Keith Barney (Rita), Kim Huff (Rick), Scott Barney (Dina), Karen Barney (Steve Stetson); her grandchildren, Oliver Barney (Rachel), Trevor Barney (Kate), Erica Snyder (Stephen), Zachary Barney (Jessica), Allison Loyd (Mack), Hannah Jarvis (Landry), Kailey Huff, Mykenzie Huff, Jake Barney (Kasaundra), Nick Barney (fiancé Natalie Poulton), Luke Barney, Ryon Stetson (Erin), Mary Stetson; fourteen great-grandchildren; also several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is also survived by her very special furry friend, Chino. Ruth was a graduate of Broome Community College, Binghamton University, and received a Master of Science Degree from Syracuse University. Ruth was retired from UHS and her private counseling practice (retired at 81). She enjoyed traveling and attending her grandchildren’s sporting and other activities. Ruth most enjoyed taking her children and grandchildren on family vacations to Wildwood NJ, Pine Grove Dude Ranch, and Disney World.
Celebration of Life services will be held Wednesday November 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Living Hope Church 29 Grant Avenue Endicott, NY. A private burial will be at Vestal Hills Memorial Park immediately following the Celebration of Life. The family will receive friends at Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott on Tuesday November 15th from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM and on Wednesday November 16th from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM at Living Hope Church prior to the service. The Celebration of Life service will also be available live at live.ourlivinghope.church. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in her memory to either Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier 47 Broad Avenue, Binghamton, NY 13904 or Broome County Humane Society 167 Conklin Avenue, Binghamton, NY 13903.
