She leaves behind her grandchildren, Kattie Grady (Nate), Alex Bespalko, Tyler Peguero (Teresa), Molly Peguero, Peter Peguero Jr and Karly Peguero. She is also survived by her sister in- laws, Dr. Grace Peguero and Carmen Peguero in addition to her grand grandson Leo Grady. Ruth was a graduate of Owego High School and Robert Packer School of Nursing Class of 1950. She worked at Robert Packer Hospital after graduation. She had the honor of being a Scrub Nurse for Dr Robert Guthrie, until moving onto Wilson Memorial Hospital where she met the love of her life Pancho. Ruth loved Owego, NY and reminiscing about her days in Owego. Ruth loved her home in Vestal and her summer cottage on Laurel Lake, Pennsylvania. She thoroughly enjoyed sitting in a tube floating on the lake on hot summer nights. She enjoyed trips to Chaumont Bay, NY fishing and talking with friends. Ruth loved to travel with her husband; she visited his homeland in the Dominican Republic several times and was able to see many other places in the Continental USA, Mexico and Hawaii. As an avid collector of antiques she took every opportunity to stop at every antique store she could find. Ruth supported her children in sports throughout the years and never missed a Vestal High School swim meet or football game. She also enjoyed going to band competitions and traveled as a volunteer of the Band Aids to the Cherry Blossom festival in Washington DC. She loved making floral arrangements and decorating for every holiday. She cherished her Grandchildren and made the trip to the Carrier Dome to watch her grandson Alex’s team play and win the 2005 NYS Championship. Ruth loved her grand dogs and just about every dog she met. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the BC Humane Society. Ruth’s family would like to thank the Staff of UHS Ideal Senior Living Center, Betty Smith and Jerry Robinson for their help during this time.
