Sam R. George

Sam R. George, 87, of Endicott, after a long and courageous battle with cancer passed away at the Susquehanna Nursing Center, Johnson City, Friday, May 14, 2010. He is survived by his wife Mary; two daughters and sons in law Marilyn and James Randesi, Apalachin and Cindy and Dave Solomita, Endicott; two sons and daughters in law Rick and Valerie George, Endwell and Dave and Brenda George, Owego; his grandchildren who were the light of his life and the light of theirs, Erik Randesi; Becky Randesi; Miranda Stasko; Stephanie Stasko; Jessica George; Marisa George and Amanda George; a brother Frank George, Endicott; also several nieces; nephews and cousins. He was a former member of St. John’s Church, Newark Valley, NY, a retired Village of Endicott employee and a veteran of W.W. II, serving in the US Army. Sam was also member of the VFW Post #1371, Owego, the Endicott Police and Fire Benevolent Association and was an avid golfer. The family would like to thank the staff and volunteers that helped Sam and his family during his illness.Services will be held Thursday 6:30 pm from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, with the Reverend Father William Moorby officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, Thursday from 5 pm until service time at 6:30 pm.
