Sandra “Sandy” Saccoccio

Sandra Jean Saccoccio passed away peacefully at the age of 80 on January 26th, 2021 after a long illness. Sandra (Sandy) will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her. She had a keen sense of humor and a sharp wit. Sandy lived most of her life in Endicott, New York. Sandy was born on July 15th, 1940 in Binghamton, New York to Constance and Husta Cowan. At the age of 19, she married Lawrence Harris and had four children. Sandy had a long and prosperous career in banking and enjoyed many hobbies including crafting, crocheting, reading, playing cards and water skiing. Her favorite time was spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Sandy was preceded in death by her first husband Lawrence Harris in 2003 and second husband Jerry Saccoccio in 2018.
Sandy is survived by her daughter Tamara and Franklin Redden of Arizona and their children Sarah Young and Amanda Porter. In Arizona, great-grandchildren Sam Young, Logan Wright, and Michael Porter. In New York state, son Lawrence and Cynthia Harris and grandchildren Ashley and Lauren Harris and great-grandchild Mayson Whiting. Also in New York state, son David and Stephanie Harris and grandchildren Zoe, Maxwell, and Kazimir Harris. In Florida, she is survived by her daughter Jennifer and John West, and grandchildren Hannah and Matthew West. Sandy is survived by her siblings Timothy Cowan, Susan Crampton, and Marie Benjamin along with many
nephews, nieces, and brother and sister-in-laws.
Our Mom was part of a parental partnership that was the reason all four children graduated from SUNY Binghamton and are successful today. Our parents believed in us and encouraged us to succeed. They will be greatly missed, but live on in our hearts. We exemplify their belief of family first.
In 2018, Sandy established her new home at United Methodist Homes Hilltop Campus. She thoroughly enjoyed her time there by participating in activities and events. She leaves behind a legacy of special friendships and lasting memories. She continued to demonstrate her competitive spirit at her weekly
bridge group.
