Sarah “Sally” Collins

Sarah (Sally) Collins, 74, died at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital after a brief illness, Sunday, January 19, 2014. Sally was predeceased by her parents, Eugene and Mary Mahon, and her loving son, Sean Michael Collins. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, James Lyle Collins, who resides in Vestal Nursing Center; her daughter, Kelley Collins, Antrim, NH; her son, James Collins, Endicott; her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Collins, Vestal; her grandchildren, Caitlin, Jessica and Sean. She also has surviving siblings, sister and brother-in-law, Sheila (McMahon) and Michael Cogswell, Newark; Shirley (McMahon) and John Eddy, Ellojay, GA; Timothy McMahon, Binghamton; Thomas McMahon, Johnson City; Judy Cummings, Vestal; Joanne Collins, Endwell and dear friends, Ella Kernan and Jane Reeve. Sally was a long time employee of both Lourdes Hospital and the Vestal Nursing Center where she worked in Dietary. She was a devoted sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday 1 pm at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 801 Main Street, Vestal. The family will receive friends immediately after Mass in the church gathering space. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to Lourdes Hospital Foundation, 169 Riverside Drive, Binghamton, NY 13905.
