Shirley Peck

Shirley Jamison Peck died peacefully Tuesday evening, May 24, 2016 at the Vestal Park Rehab and Nursing Center after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s. Shirley graduated from Ithaca High School and Broome Community College and also attended Cortland State. She was predeceased by her parents, Charles C. Jamison II and Dorothy (Kennedy) Jamison, Ithaca NY, husband John William Peck, son John William Peck Jr., and brothers Lawrence, Charles (Jim), and Ronald Jamison. Shirley is survived by her daughters Galeynn Mihelc, Laurie (Frank) Falzone, Jennifer Vetromile and Kelly (Ed) Sepelak and sons Timothy and Steven. She is also survived by brothers Alan (Mary), Andrew (Claire), Manuel (Carol) and Blair (Diane) Jamison and by sisters Marilyn Thomas and Barbara (Tom) Rice and many nieces and nephews. Shirley loved reading, sewing and gardening but her greatest joy was time spent with her 14 grandchildren: Kerri (Bruce) Harrington, Sean (Laura), Aaron (Alisha), Kevin and Eric (Erika)Mihelc, Jordan, Clayton, Meredith and Samantha Falzone, John and Grace Vetromile and Tyler, Jamison and Brooke Sepelak. The family shares their deepest gratitude for the loving care Shirley received for many years in the memory care units at the Hearth at Castle Gardens and the Vestal Park Rehab and Nursing Center.

The family will celebrate Shirley’s life at a private service with burial at Vestal Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
