Shirley Vergona of Endicott, NY passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024 at the age of 93.
She was survived by her daughter Valerie Gable, son Thomas Vergona, granddaughter Maria Palmiter, son-in-law Brian Palmiter Jr., great grandson, Luca Palmiter, close friend Kathy Roberts and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Dominic Vergona and her parents, Anna and Raymond Ottman. She was the last surviving member of the magnificent seven Ottman siblings: James, Robert, Lyman and Richard Ottman, Rosemary Lass, and Jeannette Dehm with whom she spent many hours reminiscing the old days.
She graduated from Oswego HS, worked as a secretary for UE School District and volunteered with girls softball, UE band boosters, and OLGC Church.
Her favorite past time was dancing with The Country Grazers dance group where she made many friends.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, from 9:30 am until Mass time at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Good Council Church 701 West Main St., Endicott, with a Luncheon to follow at the church.
