Stephen Stelmak

Stephen John Stelmak, 53, of Vestal passed away peacefully Friday November 13, 2015 surrounded by his family and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Richard W. and Camilla Green and stepfather-in-law, James O’Shea. He is survived by his wife, Karen M. Stelmak, Vestal; daughter, Julia Stelmak and fiancé, Tate Botting, Binghamton; parents, George and Joyce Stelmak, Vestal; mother-in-law, Joyce O’Shea, Chenango Bridge; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Deborah Kish and fiancé, Rick Lachmanski, Endwell, James and Stephanie Blodgett, Endicott, Richard and Florence Blodgett, Endicott and Kathleen and Dennis Tweedie, Painted Post; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Stephen was a self-employed mason in the area most of his life and spent the past several years working closely with his long time friend Dan Dougherty. He loved Sandy Pond, boating, fishing, skiing and snowmobiling. He was a one-of-a-kind, generous, loving husband and father and was always there for his family and friends by doing whatever he could to help and continued to give by being an organ donor.

A celebration of Stephen’s life will be held at Barnaby’s Pub 2101 East Main Street, Endwell, Wednesday November 18, from 4-8 pm. Expressions of sympathy in Stephen’s memory may be made to the family for Steve’s Medical Fund on gofundme.com.
