Stuart “Stu” Moyle

Stuart G. Moyle, 87 of Vestal, NY passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at UHS Wilson Memorial Hospital. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 36 years, Helen. Stu is survived by his four daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie and Roger Martin, Cindy and Bob Wassel, Susie and Brian Jeavons, Teri and Andy Martin, and his son and daughter in law, Joe and Kim Moyle. Stu also shared his life and love with Helen’s two children, Billie Briggs Lemmiksoo and Robert George, Jr. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Gary (Heather) and Kyle Horton, James (Maggie) and Brian (Melissa) Stanley, Nicole Moyle and Andrew Moyle, Adam, Brianna and Zach Jeavons, Ashley(Phil) Sage, Heather Westbrook, Doug (Amy) Morrison, Kevin (Alicia) Briggs, Kara Roy, Jennifer (Chris) Harris, Brendan (Elizabeth) Aylesworth, Jillian (Patrick) Lee, Robert (Genevieve), Zachary, Alexandra and Lily George. He is also survived by his sister and brother in law, Shirley and Bernie Turner and his Aunt, Beverly Moyle and sister in law Ruth Moyle along with his 20 Great-Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Stu enjoyed a successful 37 year career ending it as a manager at IBM Endicott. In retirement, Stu and Helen enjoyed spending winters in Cape Coral, Florida and summers at Sandy Pond, New York in their waterfront cottage. They were fortunate enough to have shared many domestic and foreign travels together. Stu enjoyed many years of hunting and fishing trips and was an enthusiastic outdoorsman. He loved to dance and sing the nights away, although he likely would have never made it past a first audition on The Voice or Dancing with the Stars. He will be remembered as a loving grandfather, patient teacher and mentor who was always available when called upon for a shoulder to cry on or to offer some sage advice. For seven years, his love and devotion was evident as he cared for his loving wife, Helen after her debilitating stroke. After Helen’s passing, Stu was fortunate to share the last few years of his life with his close and constant companion, Marie Westbrook. Stu had a kind, generous and engaging personality and enjoyed striking up an impromptu conversation with a complete stranger. He touched many lives in his 87 years with his gentle kindness and will be truly missed. Stu loved to remind us all he was the boss and in charge and we always humored him in agreement; he may have trouble convincing his way into the gates of Heaven with that attitude, so good luck with that Stu! The family would like to thank the staff of the Cardiac Care Unit at UHS Wilson Memorial Hospital for their devoted care and concern for Stu in his final days.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, May 31st at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott followed by a committal service at Vestal Hills Memorial Park, burial to follow. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Tuesday, May 30th from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. An expression of sympathy in Stuart’s honor can also be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or the American Heart Association. He is now reunited with his wife Helen as they begin their everlasting journey on the new JUS US 2.
