Teresa Lynn Tompkins

June 26, 1949 — December 30, 2024

Teresa “T” Tompkins, 75, of Endicott went to be with her Lord on Monday, December 30, 2024, following a short illness.
Born in Meshoppen, PA on June 26, 1949, the daughter of Marjorie Kerrick Tompkins and C. Frederick Tompkins, Teresa was raised in Camptown, PA and attended Wyalusing Valley High School, graduating with the Class of ’67.
Surviving is her sister, Gail T. McDonough, niece Michelle McDonough, her husband, and two sons, nephew David McDonough, and Sister-Cousins, Kathy, Chris, Connie, Kimmen, Karen, Sandy, Kim & Karen. Also surviving are her nephews, Robert Thrasher and Patrick Thrasher.
As well as her constant and dear childhood friend Dianne Detrich Fowler of Towanda, Teresa was extremely grateful that she was able to reconnect with the Langland brothers shortly before she passed.
Well-known for the 25 years she spent as owner/operator at the Deacon’s Bench in Johnson City before selling it. Teresa continued in hospitality, enjoying her years as dining room manager at United Methodist Home (Hilltop). The residents became extended family to Teresa.
After leaving Hilltop, Teresa went to work part-time at Re-Fabulous Furnishings. She very much enjoyed her time there and made a special friend in owner Julie, who was very supportive and understanding when Teresa became ill.
Family was very important to Teresa, and she was the glue that re-built the connections of her cherished Aunt Jan and Uncle Mike Solowiej, as well as the “Sister-Cousins” who were apart too long. Teresa and her sister, Gail looked forward to hosting the annual Cousin Round-Up, lovingly referred to as
Tom-Wil-Owiej. Teresa was going to make sure to nurture her family by getting and keeping her cousins close to her. One highlight of the day was the trivia game Teresa enjoyed putting together for us each year. She would split us into teams and became Emcee and Judge of the game. Little did any of us know that the relationships she fostered between us would put us all together again to say farewell to her. These Sister-Cousins dropped everything, coming from near and far to be there so Teresa was not alone. In the end this brought great comfort to Gail, as well as each other.
Besides her parents, Teresa was predeceased by her sister, Jeanne Welles.
The family wishes to thank the medical team and caregivers at UHS Wilson for keeping Teresa comfortable. A special thank you to Dr. Suchet Patel and Endwell Family Physicians.
Arrangements are under the direction of Allen Memorial Home. At her request, there will be no services.
