Theresa Bendert

Theresa Bendert, 79, of Endicott, died at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Tuesday, April 9, 2013. She was predeceased by her parents Edward and Filomena. She is survived by four brothers and sisters in law Thomas and Virginia Bendert; Joseph and June Bendert, all of Endicott; Edward and Patricia Bendert, Waddington, NY and Paul Bendert, Binghamton; also several nieces; nephews; cousins and friends, including special friends Gail Wood; Palma Longo and Connie Eno. Theresa was a lifelong active member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Endicott, volunteering much of her time in many of the church activities, including Parish Council and Trustee, commissioned Lay Minister in Parish Outreach, head of the Bereavement Committee, volunteer coordinator for Parish Formation for Pastoral Care and was recognized by the bishop for her contribution to parish life and was a member of the after morning Mass Breakfast Club at Friendly’s. She was also a retired teacher with the Vestal Central Schools. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday 12:30 pm at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at church Friday from 10:30 am until Mass time at 12:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 200 Grippen Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
