Thomas Iessi

d. June 26, 2024

Thomas Robert Iessi, 67, of Endicott, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at Mercy House of Southern Tier Wednesday, June 26, 2024. Tom was predeceased by his father Camillo Iessi, mother Ann Marie Iessi, grandparents, and his special aunt, “Aunt Annie”. Tom is survived by his two daughters Sheena Iessi and Talia Iessi, his pride and joy, his grandson, Dominic Randesi and his step mother Esterina Iessi. Tom had several cousins, close family members, and his aunt, Amelina (Armando) Masciarelli. Tom had many friends that were very important in his life, including his best friend of 40+ years, Maria (John) Cicciarelli.
In his youth, Tom was an altar boy for St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Endicott and also played CYO basketball for several years.
Tom spent his entire life on the Northside of Endicott and was a proud Italian-American where he enjoyed the Italian traditions.
Tom graduated in 1975 from Union Endicott High School, where he was an all-star baseball player and went on to Broome Community College where he graduated with a Business Degree.
He worked for Visions Federal Credit Union for 15 years where he held several positions, Morgan Stanley Dean Witter as an Investment Broker, and Maines Paper and Food Services as Credit Manager, retiring after 20 years of dedicated service.
Tom was an avid NY Giants football fan and a die-hard NY Yankees fan. He enjoyed traveling to the Bronx, to watch the baseball games live with his daughters and grandson.
He was the ultimate “Dance Dad” and spent several years traveling with his daughter Talia to various dance competitions. He also never missed watching his grandson Dominic’s baseball games, as he was his biggest fan. He loved cooking dinner, spending time, and laughing with his daughter Sheena.
Although Tom had many accomplishments in his life, his biggest accomplishment, the one he was most proud of was his family. His family, both immediate and extended, meant the world to him and he enjoyed every moment spent with them.
The family would like to thank the staff at Guthrie Lourdes Digestive Care, especially Dr. Toro. We also extend our thanks to the staff at Broome Oncology, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, and most importantly Mercy House of the Southern Tier and Father Clarence Rumble.
The family will receive friends at Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis St, Endwell on Wednesday July 3rd from 9:30-11am. Funeral Mass will follow at 11am.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital , American Cancer Society, or Mercy House of Southern Tier.
