Upinder Singh Dhillon, 71, passed away on April 23, 2022, after a brief but heroic battle with cancer.
He spent 35 years serving the community at Binghamton University, including a 21-year tenure as Dean of the School of Management. During that time, he had an immeasurable impact on students, staff, alumni, faculty and friends of the University.
He was extremely proud of all that was accomplished under his tenure at the School of Management. The school received numerous accolades including recognition as one of the top business schools in the country. But his passion was always serving the students of the University, and his greatest pride was playing a supporting role in their accomplishments in the field of finance and beyond.
Along with his wife, Sadev, he raised two sons in Vestal, New York and was actively involved in the local community. He recently welcomed a new granddaughter, who was the apple of his eye.
He is survived by his loving wife Sadev; sister Harinder; children Eishpal and Tejpal; daughters-in-law Simi and Angie; beloved granddaughter Savrina and so many friends and family.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12-2:30 PM at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 E. Main Street, Endicott. Private Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Upinder’s memory, to two causes affiliated with the University. The Dhillon Family Graduate Scholarship (Account #20344) and Dhillon Family Faculty Fellow (Account #21516). For additional details please contact Rebecca Hancock, rhancock@binghamton.edu.
