Victoria “Aunt Vicky” Cascio, 88 of Endicott NY entered into eternal rest Thursday November 13, 2014. She was predeceased by her parents Maria and Francesco Cascio, sister Marianne Saraceno (Anthony Saraceno), three brothers; Joseph, Dominic, twin brother Charles “Chuck”, and nephew Frank Cascio. She is survived by nieces and nephews; Mary Olsen, Anne Oakley, Vicki LoBue, Linda Mancini, Elizabeth Cartini, Kathy Zakri, Marie Blum, Frank Cascio, Mary Kim Oakley, Frank Cascio, Christopher Cascio, many great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews, and cousins. Vicky is also survived by three sisters in law; Lillian Cascio, Mary Cascio, and Shirley Cascio. She was a lifelong member of St. Anthony’s Church. Vicky was also a member of the Independent Mutual Aid Society. Although Vicky was never a mother herself, she was an “aunt” to everyone she knew and met. She was a godmother to many children and treated them as her own. Vicky was a hairdresser for over 40 years, running her own business “Vicky’s Beauty Shop” out of her home in Endicott. Vicky was a true hairdresser until the end. Even at 70+ years old she would sneak downstairs into her Beauty Shop to perform services for clients because, as she would say, “I just wanted to get my hands into things, I miss doing hair so much”! She had many friends that she considered family throughout her life that she is now reunited with in heaven. Some of Vicky’s happiest and proudest moments were spent with her family. She was nicknamed “Party Girl” over the years due to her love of music and dancing, especially at family weddings. Aunt Vicky will be greatly missed by all of her family and friends. The family would like to give a special thank you to all of the staff at Ideal Living Center for the exceptional care and kindness given to Aunt Vicky.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday 6 pm at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 306 Odell Avenue, Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, Tuesday at 11:30 am. The family will receive friends at church Monday from 4 pm until 5:45 pm. Expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Sister Anisia Muthoni, St. Francis Ministry, 906 Jenkins Street, Endicott, NY 13760.
