Vincent J. Capozzi, 48, of Binghamton, NY, died at Bridgewater Nursing Home, Saturday, February 11, 2017, after an extended illness with a rare disease. He was predeceased by father in law Wesley M. Bundy, grandparents Carolyn and Joseph Restino and Vincent and Grace Capozzi. He is survived by his wife of 23 years Rebecca A. (Bundy) Capozzi, daughter Emily L. Capozzi, son James M. Varga and his beloved yellow lab Bailey, his parents Carolyn and Vincent P. Capozzi, Binghamton, NY, mothers in law Deborah S. Bundy, St. Thomas, VI, and Barbara Bundy-Kuhn and father in law Joseph Kuhn, Port Crane, NY, sisters and brothers in law Lynn and Tim Gaetano, Virginia Beach, VA, Michelle Marshall, Hinesburg, VT, Timothy and Mindy Bundy, Quantico, VA, Thomas and Angel Bundy, Seoul, South Korea and Marc Bundy, Berlin Germany; also several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Vincent was a member of Binghamton High School Class of 1986. He was included in The Extraordinary Students of America 1986. He attended BCC where he received dual degrees in Hotel/Hospitality and Restaurant/Food Service Management. In the final years of his life Vincent was employed with Sodexo at SUNY Binghamton. This was a job he loved and offered him the opportunity to bake with Buddy Valastro of “Cake Boss” and to cater for the band Chicago. Vincent was also a member of the Cheese head Chile Competition Team, for many years with his partner Robert Griffin. He is now listening to his scanner in Heaven. The Family of Vincent J. Capozzi would especially like to thank Bridgewater Nursing Home for the extraordinary and compassionate care that was given, as well as to Dr. Thomas Martin and the staff at Lourdes, Upper Front Street, for the incredible care Vincent received over the years. Special thanks to the entire Team at Sodexo at SUNY Binghamton for their generous and heartfelt support during these difficult three years, and finally to our Church Family at Tabernacle United Methodist for their outpouring of support, generosity and compassion during these difficult times.
Services will be held Saturday 11 am at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 83 Main Street, Binghamton. The family will receive friends at church at the conclusion of services. Expressions of sympathy in lieu of flowers may be made to Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 83 Main Street, Binghamton, NY 13905.
