Viola “Vicki” Adams

Viola (Vicki) Adams, age 91, died peacefully at home in the early hours of Thursday, August 27, 2015, surrounded by love…She was predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, John J. Adams, her parents, seven siblings, and many dear friends. She is survived by her children, Bill (Joan) Adams, Pittsburgh, PA, Christine Adams, Endicott, NY, Tom Adams, Binghamton, NY, John (Shelly) Adams, Newark, CA, grandchildren, Evan, Crystal, Madison, and Chase Adams, sister, Marie O’Malley, brother, Danny Belviso, sister-in-law, Leda Adams, and several nieces and nephews. Vicki was a retired employee of M&T Bank, also retiring after 25 years of dedicated work tending bar for the VIP’s at The BC Open. She was a retired WWII Army Veteran, and an energetic worker in all she did, taking on many jobs with great enthusiasm, including creating and filling, the position of gym teacher at St. Joseph’s school, where her four young children attended, expert cook and baker, cafeteria worker, and many years of back breaking waitressing, always with a smile…Her creative gifts were many, refinishing furniture to a ‘T,’ remodeling, knitting like a pro, and enthusiastic card playing (Pitch & Scat) at family friendly card games around her beautifully finished oak dining table. Mostly, she was a loving wife and Mom, who will be so very missed by her loving children. The family would like to thank the ‘angels’ from hospice, Dr. John Perry, for his care and compassion over so many years, and the wonderful residents and staff at Good Shepherd Village in Endwell, where she happily resided this last year.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, September 1st, at 11:30 am, at St. Joseph’s
Church, Hayes Avenue, Endicott, followed by burial in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends at St. Joseph’s Church from 10-11:30 am, prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to Lourdes Hospice, 4102 Old Vestal Road, Vestal, NY, 13850, or a charity of your choice.
