Viola Mary Ryan 91, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 1, 2014. She went to be with the Lord and dance the Tarantella with her predeceased family; who were waiting for her with open arms. She was predeceased by her husband of 66 years Richard Ryan, her parents Nick and Maria DeFrancesco, brother Marsh, sister Adeline Nacco and husband Tom, sister Mary, nephew Joseph Nacco and wife Dolores of Rochester, N.Y. and grandson Pierre Ebrahimi of Connecticut. Viola is survived by her daughter Linda Ryan and son and daughter in law Patrick and Paula Ryan, her grandchildren, Danny Ebrahimi and wife Sumi, Lorraine Phillips and husband John, Nancy Driggers and husband Casey, Patrick Michael Ryan, Kenneth Ebrahimi, and her great grandchildren, Kiran and Tristan Ebrahimi, and Kayla Horkavy. Several cousins and dear friends. Viola was born in Rochester, N.Y. in 1923 and married the love of her life World War II veteran Richard Ryan. She was a caring and loving mother, devoted friend, kind and friendly soul to all who knew her. She was a member in the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge for many years and served as Regent. Viola and Richard moved to Vestal after retirement to be closer to their son’s family. They enjoyed many great European travel vacations and met some life-long friends along the way. Viola may be most known for her humorous jingle telling wit, great memory, and uncanny luck during family poker games; pulling flushes and four- of- a- kinds, from seemingly no where. The family wishes to thank Lourdes ICU for the loving and devoted care given to Viola.
