Joseph Wesley, brother-in-law, Robert Freedman, sister-in-law, Jeanne Freedman, brother & sister-in-law, Mike & Jenny Freedman, and nephew Joseph F. Wesley.

Ginny was born, the youngest of 5, in Salina, Kansas, to James & Irene Lonergan. The youngest daughter of a dentist, Ginny grew up in a strong Catholic family and carried these values with her throughout her life. She graduated with a BS in Biology from Marymount University in Salina. She met her lifelong love, Ray, at church when she was selling tickets for a fundraiser. The 2 were married in 1958 and moved to Endicott, NY, in 1960.
Ginny's life was founded on faith and family. Her quiet, warm and loving nature made her easy to be around. She attended Mass daily and prayed her Rosary silently and privately never imposing on others. Her passion for God and educating others in the Catholic Faith brought her to serve at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church as the Religious Education Coordinator from 1970-1991.
Ginny was well educated in the arts and shared her artistic passions with her family. She loved music, Broadway shows, ballet, art museums, sewing, knitting, crochet, crafts, painting, drawing, piano and gardening. Music was almost always playing in the house when she was home.
She and Ray enjoyed world travel in their retirement years while also keeping up w their grandchildren in 4 states. She adored her grandchildren and traveled to visit them regularly until her health discouraged it.
After Ray passed, she moved to Good Shepherd Village in 2015 and enjoyed the retirement community lifestyle until her health took a turn in 2019. She spent the next 6 years fighting the decline, praying and seeking God's grace in her suffering, and loving her family and friends.
The family would like to thank Sister Anisia, Sister Mary Jane, and Fr. Jacinto Mary of Mount St. Francis Hermitage in Endicott for his many visits to offer the Sacraments in her final years, and also the staff at Good Shepherd Village Endwell for the loving care they provided.
