The Lord called Vivienne A. Socha home when she died peacefully at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, NY surrounded by her daughters Tiffany (Socha) Luzuriaga and Dr. Cori (Socha) Mikloucich.

Vivienne was born on January 21, 1944, in Scranton, Pa and grew up in Dunmore, Pa. She was head majorette at Dunmore Highschool. She graduated from Marywood University with a bachelor’s in teaching. Vivienne taught elementary school in the Maine Endwell, NY school district for many years. After taking some time off to raise her two daughters she returned to teaching at St. James Middle School in Johnson City, NY where she taught for almost twenty years until she retired.

Vivienne was married to her husband Thomas J. Socha who passed on in 2000. She is survived by her two daughters Dr.Cori Mikloucich of Apalachin, NY and Tiffany Luzuriaga of Westfield, NJ, her son in laws, Dr. Jerome Mikloucich and Pablo Luzuriaga, her brother Dr. Frank Cianci of Denton, Texas and her sister Mary Ann D’Andrea of Irving, Texas, her beloved grandchildren Gabriel Luzuriaga, Samuel Luzuriaga, Nathaniel Luzuriaga, Mia Mikloucich, and Thomas Mikloucich, a brother in law Chet Socha, Johnson City, NY and along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family was everything to Vivienne. She loved spending time with her family, and it was the most important thing to her in her life. Vivienne impacted the lives of so many throughout her teaching career and considered herself blessed to be doing something she loved. Vivienne was also famous for her cooking and her baking, especially her stuffed shells and her cannoli. Anyone that ever came to the Socha house for a visit, always left with trays of food in hand. She also loved music, Broadway and playing card games with her grandkids. She touched the lives of so many with her generosity and all the love she gave to those around her.

A Funeral Mass will be held Monday 10 am at St. James Church, 147 Main Street, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott Sunday from 2-4 pm.
