Walt Pichura,76, of Johnson City, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Monday, February 24, 2014. He was predeceased by the love of his life, Peggy Pichura just one short year ago; his parents, Walter C. Pichura, Sr. and Irene (Pichura) Rabert as well as his father-in-law, William J. Mayers. He is survived by his children, William (Polly) Pichura and their children, Carissa (Jon) Borne, Ryan and Billy; daughter, Susan (Mike) Branca and their children, Dan, Stephen and Nicholas; daughter, Mary Beth Pichura and her daughter, Ashley (Dave) Chebiniak, daughter, Lori (Gary) Ellsworth and their children, Jessica, Lexi and Josh; mother-in-law, Marie Mayers, brothers-in-law William, (Shirley) Mayers, James (Karen) Mayers; special pet, Sadie; as well as a special uncle, aunts, several cousins, nieces and nephews. Favorite quote “I wouldn’t trade my family for a million dollars”. Walt was an avid bowler, but especially loved golf. He was a member of the Johnson City Knights of Columbus and in the past served as Grand Knight.
Funeral Services held Monday 9:30 am from the Allen Memorial Home 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Ambrose Church, Endicott at 10 am. Entombment will be at Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Sunday from 2-5 pm. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Walt’s memory may be made to St. Ambrose Church, 203 Washington Avenue, Endicott, NY 13760.
