Wesley A. Warren, age 49, of Apalachin, NY returned to his Lord Sunday morning at home. Born in Huntsville, AL on August 4, 1964, son of Stella J. Warren of Apalachin, and the late Deward W. “Red” Warren, Wesley was an Associate Professor at SUNY Broome Community College in the Criminal Justice and Homeland Security Department. He took great pride in his military service in the US Army Military Police (MP) from which he was honorably discharged after serving at Fort McClellan, AL, Fort Ord, CA and finally Schofield Barracks, HI. He was also a proud active member of the US Coast Guard Auxiliary. A former Police Officer for many years, Wesley earned an A.A.S. degree from SUNY Broome Community College, a B.S. degree from SUNY Binghamton, and a J.D. degree from the Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Wesley was an avid golfer, chess player, reader and conversationalist — where his infectious smile and stories were larger than life, especially during the numerous bonfires he held in his backyard. Due to his generous heart, he was admired and respected by many. He was always ready to volunteer his services whenever and wherever they were needed – in all kinds of weather and all kinds of circumstances. Wesley is also survived by his greatest treasures, daughter Katelyn Warren of Albany NY, son Wesley Alex Warren of Endicott NY, nephew Nicholas, and granddaughter Logan. He is also survived by his sister Wendy Harris of Gainesville FL, and brother and sister-in-law David and Mimi Warren of Apalachin NY.
The family will receive relatives and friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511 East Main St. Endicott, NY 13760 on Saturday February 15, 2014 from 1 to 4 pm. Per Wesley’s wishes, no funeral service will be held; burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, kindly consider a memorial contribution for his children’s continuing education and granddaughter’s college fund – in c/o: David Warren, P.O. Box 150, Owego, NY 13827.
