Master Chief Petty Officer William B. Conner, USN (Retired) died, Sunday May 5, 2014, following a long illness with cancer. He was predeceased by his parents Walter and Anne Conner. He is survived by his loving wife Dianne, children Michael Conner; Michelle (Brad) Brown; Tamara (Brian) Wojcik; and Amy Lee; his grandchildren Danielle and Ryan Conner and his girlfriend Justine Grosso; Brandon Brown; Amber, Justin, Julia, and Jared Flint; Brianna and Hannah Wojcik; Preston Burns, Pierce and Ciera Eynon; and his great grandchildren Harper and Holden Medina. Master Chief Conner, having served twenty two years, retired from his position as an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (for participation in the Cuban Missile Blockade), Navy Good Conduct Medal (Five Awards) among numerous others. He retired from his second career with Social Security Administration in October 2007 following ten years of service. He will be remembered for his gentle and compassionate personality and his giving spirit. The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff on the Hospice floor at Susquehanna Nursing Center, Lourdes 3 West, and Rehabilitation Center at Good Shepherd Fairview.
Funeral services will be held Thursday 9:15 am from the Allen Memorial Home 511-513 East Main Street Endicott, followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Vincent de Paul/Blessed Sacrament Church 165 Clifton Blvd, Vestal at 10 am. Entombment with full military honors will follow in Riverhurst Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, Wednesday from 5-8 pm. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS. 66675.
