William “Bill” Joseph Evanoika, born on May 8, 1948, in Carbondale, Pennsylvania, reposed in the Lord on Monday, October 7, 2024. Bill courageously battled various health challenges over the last several years. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Elizabeth Evanoika of Vestal, New York. Bill graduated from Vestal Senior High School on June 26, 1966. He proudly served in the United States Air Force with the 56th Combat Support Group in Nakhon Phanom, Thailand, the 513th Combat Support Group at RAF Mildenhall in England, and the 2856th Air Base Group at Griffiss Air Force Base, New York, before being honorably discharged. Following his military service, Bill worked at Chenango Industries in Vestal, IBM Corporation in Owego, and finally as a Project Manager for the MH-60 Helicopter program at Lockheed Martin in Owego, New York. His dedication, expertise, and genuine desire to build quality business relationships were highly valued by his colleagues and military stakeholders. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Gail Evanoika (O’Connell); his sister, Joanne Buffum and Vincent LoBue of Vestal, NY; his daughter, Carrie Evanoika of Seneca Falls, NY; his son, Thomas Evanoika, and daughter-in-law, Marina Evanoika (Sergeyevna); and his cherished granddaughters, Zoryana Evanoika and Katerina Hawrylina; sister-in-law Sherry DePofi; Jackie (DePofi) and Brandon Morrison, and their beautiful daughters Tabor and Tegan Morrison. Bill had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, biking, and kayaking. He was especially delighted when he could bird hunt with his trusted Labradors, Casey and Buddy. He was also dedicated to maintaining a healthy lifestyle through weightlifting and nutritious eating. One of his greatest joys was vacationing in Aruba with his beloved wife. Above all, Bill was a devoted and loving son, husband, brother, father, and grandfather. He cherished his family deeply, and the joy and memories they shared were his greatest treasures. Funeral Services will be held 11 am, Friday, October 11 at the Allen Memorial Home 511–513 East Main Street, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Friday, October 11 from 10 am until service time at 11 am. Bill’s legacy of love, strength, and dedication will forever be remembered by those who knew and loved him. He will continue his journey home with his trusted companions, Casey and Buddy, at his side. May his memory be eternal!
