William R. Walsh

William, 63, passed away peacefully Friday November 30, 2012, in his home. Bill is predeceased by his parents, William and Margaret, and his brother-in-law, Richard. Bill is survived by his wife of 33 years, Kathleen; his son and daughter-in-law, Tristan and Jennifer; mother-in-law, Shirley; sister-in-law, Suncha; as well as many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. “Billy” to his family and Bill to his friends was born August 13, 1949 in Cohoes, NY. He graduated from LaSalle Institute in Troy, NY. Bill was honorably discharged after serving four years in the US Navy, assigned to the USS Vreeland. He continued his education at Hudson Valley C.C. and Indian River C.C. in Florida with Associate in Art and Associate in Science degrees. He worked locally at the former IBM Owego. Bill loved animals large and small. He could be found in the backyard watching the wildlife and feeding the “kids”: birds, chipmunks and bunnies. He enjoyed all types of music, especially blues and classic rock. He was an avid fan of the Yankees, the NY Giants, University of Florida and University of Arkansas football. Bill will be sorely missed by those who knew him.A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday 2 pm from the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, with the Reverend Daniel Eddings officiating. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Wednesday from 1 pm until service time at 2 pm.
