Alyssa Beck-Baumann

d. December 9, 2017

Our sweet Alyssa is now with Jesus in heaven. On Saturday, December 9th, 2017 Alyssa Elaine Beck-Baumann finished her courageous 8-year battle with melanoma cancer and is now in heaven. Alyssa was born on November 15th 1993 in Abington, PA just outside of Philadelphia. She is survived and will be dearly missed by her loving husband Brad, parents Corin and Danne, brothers Austin and Hunter, in-laws Carl and Sharon Baumann, sister in-law Lindsey, grandparents Ron & Elaine Fathke (Parker, SD) and James Beck (York, PA), Marie Lindsey and Bill and Mary Sheila Baumann, aunts, uncles and cousins. She is predeceased by her grandmother Jean Beck of York, PA. Alyssa was a graduate of the Vestal Class of 2012 and the SUNY Broome class of 2014. She loved sports and played on Softball and Volleyball teams for high school, college and church. Alyssa was working towards her bachelors in science in Psychology/Biology at SUNY Binghamton until recently. She worked at the Sol Stone Nutrition Center in Vestal, NY hoping to make a difference and provide inspiration in people’s lives. In July of 2016, Alyssa married the love of her life Brad Baumann. Their deep and loving relationship was a true example of how to be life partners with caring and compassion with a deep and everlasting love that began in high school. They loved to travel and spend time in new places experiencing the excitement of each new adventure. Alyssa had many passions in life, from renovating her home, decorating and shopping with the girls, to always advocating for those that needed help. She had a love for all animals and rescued many over the years. Every Christmas Alyssa gathered friends and family to spread the true spirit of Christmas for those in need. Alyssa enjoyed many sports, she loved to compete, and she excelled at whatever she did. On the field or court she was fearless and strong as a lion. Off the court, she was compassionate, inspiring and caring. She knew what she wanted out of life and always had hope for the future with the light of God. Alyssa always chose to live life to it’s fullest and appreciate the simple things in life of family, friends and her fur babies. She especially enjoyed spending time with her brothers and their many good times together. She loved being a big sister. She also enjoyed going on family vacations with the cousins and on travel adventures from Boston to Florida to South Dakota to Seattle, as well as, the relaxing fun times at the lake. Alyssa took great joy in spending time with her family and her friends, she also loved spending time with their children. They were all so important to her and despite all the busyness that happens in life some of her best moments were spending time with them and watching them grow. Alyssa faced life with extreme courage, compassion and patience. She, her husband and her families are eternally thankful for all who cared, prayed and helped her in small and large ways during her challenging journey. A foundation has been set up in honor of Alyssa for those who would like to donate a gift in lieu of flowers. Your donations will go towards those organizations/charities that Alyssa cared most deeply about: childhood cancer, animal rescue/adoption, nutritional disorders and families in need.
