Charles W. McIntyre of Endicott, NY passed away on September 4, 2024. Charles was born to Harold and Genevieve McIntyre on August 26th, 1930 in Ilion, NY. He graduated from St. Francis De Sales High School, Utica, in 1948, after which he enlisted in the US Navy and served in conflict overseas during the Korean War. After his Honorable Discharge, Charles attended and graduated from Utica College of Syracuse University. He married Nancy Ellen Hughes in 1955 and they lived together in New Hartford, NY and later in Endicott, NY where they raised 3 children. Charles was preceded in death by Gregery (his son), Nancy (his beloved wife), Harold McIntyre (his father), and Genevieve McIntyre (his mother), sisters Molly Monroe and Elizabeth Groch, and his brother Harold Joseph McIntyre. He leaves as his legacy his daughter Ellen (Charlie) Heidelberg of Cornwall, NY, his son Jeffery of Syracuse, NY, grandchildren, Matthew (Bailey), Christopher (Hannah), Alicia (Philip), Michael, and Kaitlyn (TJ), great grandson Harrison as well as several nieces and nephews. Charles loved his family in his own special way. Also having a special place in his heart is his niece Kristine Fapore, former daughter-in-law Sue McIntyre and the staff at the Blue Dolphin Restaurant in Apalachin. The family would also like to thank the entire staff at Guthrie Lourdes Hospital Ross 1 for their deep caring and compassion during Charles’ final days. Charles worked at IBM for over 40 years at the Education Center in Endicott and at the Laboratory in Glendale. Over the years, he enjoyed camping, especially at Moffit Beach in Speculator and Lewey Lake Campground in Lake Pleasant and an occasional trip to Myrtle Beach. Calling Hours will be held Monday, September 9 from 1-2 pm at Allen Memorial Home, 511 East Main Street, Endicott, after which there will be a brief Christian Memorial Service at 2 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association in memory of Gregery McIntyre.
