Constance Ann Roma, known to her family and friends as Connie, passed away peacefully on February 29, 2024 surrounded by her family.
She was born on February 5, 1933, at Ideal Hospital in Endicott, New York. Connie was the first born of Dr. Vincent Hugh Williams and Gladys Irene Winans of Owego, New York, where she was raised.
Connie is now with her loving husband, James Michael Roma, who predeceased her in 2006.
She is also predeceased by her brothers George Harvey Williams and Thomas Caprio, Jr, her sister Theresa Glowa and her step father Thomas Caprio, Sr.
She is survived by her loving children Yvonne (John) DelVecchio of Cortland, Cynthia Roma, Carl (Amy) Roma and James (Suzanne) Roma, all of Endicott, New York, and her brother Vincent Williams.
Connie’s grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life: John Ardin (Tracey),
C.J. (Kacee), Jameson, Camille, Christopher (Iryna), Corey (Alyssa), James Michael, Meredith, and Mackenzie (Brendan) and her beloved great grandchildren Raffaella, Caruso, Carson, Gianina, Julian, and Filomena.
She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and very special friends.
She is a graduate of Union-Endicott High School, Class of ’51, and was captain of her cheerleading team. She was the first woman life guard at En-Joie Swimming Pool. Connie was PTA President of Jennie F. Snapp Middle School and a longtime member of the Daughters of Columbus, Independent Mutual Aid Society and St. Ann’s Society.
Connie enjoyed spending winters with her husband James at Everett Arms in Pompano, Florida and was an avid fan of Syracuse basketball, the Dallas Cowboys and Men’s Tennis.
Connie was “famous” for many things, her advocacy for all gluten free people, her sauce and meatballs and her potato salad foremost among them. She loved Pepsi and had one every day at 10 am. Most of all, Connie loved hosting parties with her husband James and got the most joy from the company of her loving family and closest friends.
A special thanks to Dr. Miller, Dr. Bertini and Dr. Hussain and the UHS Palliative Care nurses and staff at Binghamton General Hospital.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am, Monday, March 4 at St. Ambrose Church, 203 Washington Avenue, Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, Sunday, March 3 from 2-4 pm.
