Eltor “Hector” Luis Colón went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 9, 2016.He was predeceased by his parents, Flora and Marcelo Colón.He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend, Debra Ann and their daughter India Marie; his daughters and Sons in Law, Elisa Marie (Chuck) Cassidy, Syracuse, NY, Marriana Helene (Jason) Stenta, Syracuse, NY and Sierra Luisa Colón, Binghamton, NY; his grandchildren Charles Edward Cassidy IV, Colton Xavier Cassidy, Cruz Colón Cassidy, Tristano Marcelo Stenta and Stenta Baby #2; his sisters and brothers in law, Ana Maria (Carmelo) Vazquez and Genoveva Jane “Jenny” (Gerald) Bumbarger; several nieces and nephews.Hector was born June 13, 1955 in Medina, NY.He graduated from Medina Central School and Broome Community College.He worked various jobs throughout his career including Conrail and NYSEG.He subsequently retired from AES Westover and stayed home with his daughter India for several years.He chose to go back to work at Community Options, Inc. Additionally, he served in the Armed Forces of the United States and the U.S Army National Guard.If he wasn’t on the field playing, he was either coaching or on the sidelines for his daughters.He was a man of many talents and had a special loving way about him; strangers were friends he hadn’t met yet.He will be dearly missed.
Funeral Services will be held Monday 10:30 am at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 200 Jefferson Avenue, Endicott. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott. The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home Sunday from 2-5 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Make A Wish of Central New York or Community Options Inc. Binghamton, NY.
