Deacon Frank A. Longo, 92, a devoted servant of God, a fantastic father and grandfather has joined his wife Lucy of 60 years, his daughter Maryann Aikens and his mother and father, Antonette and Vito.
He is survived by his four children Michael (Karen), Frank (Donna), John (Sharon) and Christa; his adoring and adored grandchildren Melissa, Andrea, Amber, Danny, Vito, Matthew, Leah and Jacob; his great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Damien and Gianna and his sister Palma. Frank was a veteran of the Korean War. He retired from IBM after over thirty years. After retiring from IBM, he devoted thirty-five years as a Deacon (in service ministry of the Diaconate).
Frank was a man who inspired people to be loving and caring. Quietly and calmly he set a great example of love for all of us. He lived his faith. He was optimistic, hopeful, and encouraging. He would remind us to put it in God’s hands. “God knows what he is doing.”
Frank enjoyed playing golf and watching the Yankees. He was proud of his Italian heritage. But Frank’s greatest love was his family. He taught his children to love the outdoors with their yearly camping trips as they were growing up.
Frank will be waked in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 306 Odell Avenue, Endicott on Saturday, September 3 from 9 -11:45 am. A funeral Mass will follow at 12 Noon. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City at the convenience of the family.
