Hilda T. Pettinato, 90, Endwell, NY, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2022.
Born in Eynon, PA, daughter of the late Oreste and Lillian (Bianchi) Paoletti, she was a devoted wife to Tony, a mother to Barbara, Anthony, and Gerard, and a grandmother, and great-grandmother to a family that she cherished dearly. Hilda always put her family first, and presided over many home-cooked meals and wonderful holiday celebrations that were an extension of her love. Her quiet strength, humility, and work ethic were an inspiration. Nonna enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, fostering memories that were as precious as they were unforgettable both at home in Endicott, NY and the condo in Myrtle Beach, SC. Together they played cards and board games, watched classic TV, and searched for Waldo, much to her delight. Her banana bread was legendary and enjoyed by all, especially her great grand-children. Hilda also loved to spend time with her close circle of friends and never liked to miss a hair appointment, regardless of any circumstances that may get in the way. As her husband was fond of saying, “your hair looks beautiful and everyone says so.”
Hilda is survived by: a daughter, Barbara Brown and husband Thomas, Binghamton, NY; a son, Gerard Pettinato and wife Angela, Endicott, NY; five grandchildren, Luke Brown (Carrie Farrar), Nathan Brown (Patricia Vill), Gina Hooker (Sean), Annette Micholychak (Cory), Vincenzo Pettinato (Melissa); and six great-grandchildren, Olivia, Dante, Lillian, Adrianna, Marco, and Antonia. She is also survived by her brother Joseph Paoletti, FL as well as two sisters-in-law Marie Greto, PA and Ann Marie Pettinato, PA, and several cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was pre-deceased by her loving husband Anthony C. Pettinato and beloved son Anthony J. Pettinato, as well as sisters-in-law Barbara Paoletti, Angela Mancuso, and Yvonne Pettinato, also brothers-in-law Salvatore Pettinato, Frank Mancuso, Anthony Greto, James (Jackie) Pettinato.

We also would like to acknowledge the incredible kindness and compassion shown to our mother by the staff at UHS Wilson North Wing 3.
