Rosenbarker, Irving E., 92, of Newark Valley, passed away peacefully at home into the eternal arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ with his wife Orpha at his side. He was predeceased by his parents King and Floy Rosenbarker and his brother Elwin. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years in May, Orpha; a cherished sister-in-law Doris Rosenbarker; his children- Neal (Hettie), Chenango Forks, NY; Clay (Carol), Mt. Joy, PA; Christine (Mike Campisi). Tupper Lake, NY; Vin (Sherrie), Owego, NY; Rex (Karen), Endicott, NY; Shawn (Lynn), Owego, NY; 23 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews- Jack, Kathy, Mike, Pat, Cliff, Cheryl, Lon, Joanne, and Dawn. Irving graduated from Clarkson University and Syracuse University with degrees in electrical engineering. He served in the U. S. Army in WWII and became a Colonel in the Army Reserves. Irving was a loyal employee of IBM for 38 years and was a manager of the EMC Lab at the Glendale Facility. In addition to all his responsibilities, he found time to take his family on summer vacations and was always available to help the kids with their homework. He was from the “greatest generation” and it always showed in his work ethic and drive in everything he did. Irving was a loving and caring dad as well as a strict disciplinarian; a strong, supportive husband; and a generous giver. As a father his greatest joy was Saturdays spent with the kids doing project after project. He loved to travel the world with Orpha on exotic vacations. He was a member of Union Center United Methodist Church where he had many dear friends, especially Jack Black and Pastor Brown Naik. A special thanks to Khammone Rosenbarker for her tireless efforts, great compassion, and care of both Irving and Orpha.
